Kellan Lutz Discusses Twilight Saga

MTV has a new interview with Kellan Lutz last October 27. Kellan discusses the different directors, his favorite New Moon scenes, the Volturi and Emmett Cullen. Check out the interview below:

MTV: What do you see as the biggest difference between the tales in the “Twilight” saga?
Kellan Lutz: What’s the biggest difference? That’s an interesting question. Because the books are already about different subjects. Stephenie [Meyer] wrote them with the Romeo and Juliet aspect, and then, each one has a different persona. It’s a really cool concept. But as far as the directors go, each director is different. Catherine [Hardwicke] was very energetic, and she made this beautiful movie. Chris [Weitz] had this really cool, really laid-back [vibe], but has a great sense of how to do CGI and how to make these wolves look real and bigger than life versus just some computerized image. Then David Slade, with his action background and his indie style, just mixed the two. The movies are going to be unique in their own aspects, and that’s what’s really interesting — it’s not the same director doing each one. We, as actors, got to see different styles of [directing]. So it doesn’t feel old, ever.

MTV: What is your favorite “New Moon” scene?

Lutz: My favorite scene is probably anything that Charlie is in, played by Billy Burke. He just has this great comedic timing, and every scene [with him], I get a laugh out of. And there’s just tons of action. That’s the thing too, seeing the wolves actually fight each other and roughhouse. It’s really interesting to see what Chris did.

MTV: Which of the new characters is your favorite?

Lutz: The Volturi boys. I didn’t meet them in “New Moon,” so now [I see them on the “Eclipse” set]. I didn’t have the time to meet them when we were shooting “New Moon” because the shooting schedules were different. So, with seeing them, and finally meeting them on “Eclipse,” they’re really cool. It’s interesting to finally meet them. It’s so weird being an actor in something and not being a part of the whole cast feeling.

MTV: As the saga continues to film, do you feel like you’re becoming more or less like your character?

Lutz: I’ve been my character. I feel like I’ve been Emmett since day one. I really loved the character when I first had the audition for Edward. I was like, “No guys, come on [let me be in the movie].” And then I asked them about Emmett, and something was already done with that, and then it came back [available again]. I just really like Emmett. He’s a great, fun character to play. I’m always so happy to be on the set. He’s not depressing, he’s not complex. He’s just the lovable bear type.

With shooting on "Eclipse" winding down and the "Breaking Dawn" movie still unconfirmed, these may be the final days that Twilighters see any Cullens on a film set for a while. With that in mind, we wanted to make sure we caught up with one of our all-time favorite "Twilight" stars — Mr. Kellan Lutz — at least one more time.

In between his "Eclipse" duties, the Snuggie-loving actor sometimes known as Emmett Cullen sat down exclusively with MTV to discuss his thoughts on the "Twilight" movies, including comparisons of the various films' directors and his favorite scenes from "New Moon," due out on November 20.

Kristen Stewart Dumps Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson has been dumped by Kristen Stewart - because he wanted to marry her.

The 19-year-old actress reportedly called time on her romance with her 'Twilight' co-star because the 23-year-old British actor was making her feel pressured and smothered.

A source told America's OK! magazine: "Robert was talking marriage but she told him they needed a break."

It has also been claimed Kristen felt their relationship was stopping her from spending time with friends and family.

The couple - who have never confirmed their romance, despite being pictured looking intimate on several occasions - were also said to have been arguing over how to continue their relationship while living in different countries.

An insider explained: "Now 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' has finished filming, there's been a lot of tension about the logistics of their relationship as Robert wants to go back to the UK, while Kristen prefers to stay in Los Angeles."

While filming the third movie in the series, Robert - who plays vampire Edward Cullen - had been sharing a luxury penthouse apartment with Kristen, who stars as love interest Bella Swann.

The pair had rented out the entire 34th floor of the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel in Vancouver, Canada, at a cost of $850 a suite each night.

A source said: "They have two rooms joined by a door. They use a third suite on the floor to listen to music or watch Blu-ray movies on a large, flat screen, when they stay in after a day's shooting or on weekends.

"They're great. Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows and large, flat screen TVs and chandeliers. The baths double as Jacuzzis. And, best of all, that floor has its own butler and security. Robert and Kristen are transported to and from the set by accessing a private elevator system in the hotel that leads to a gated and guarded garage."

What do you think of the breakup?

New Twilight Soundtrack

It's "Twilight" time again, with a new soundtrack for the latest installment in the teen vampire saga hitting screens this month.

Given that last year's "Twilight" soundtrack sold more than 2 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, it's not surprising that the sequel's companion album largely reproduces the first set's alt-rock grab-bag approach - albeit with bigger names befitting the higher profile of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" (Chop Shop/Atlantic, B+).

Music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas landed top-shelf exclusives from the Killers, Thom Yorke and Death Cab for Cutie (whose "Meet Me on the Equinox" is guitar-guy melancholia at its prettiest). But Patsavas' real accomplishment is using "New Moon" to introduce mainstream listeners to hipster-beloved indie acts: Grizzly Bear, and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon in a duet with St. Vincent, "Roslyn," that could warm even a vampire's heart.

Mario has a broken heart and he's pouring it all out on his latest set, "D.N.A." (RCA/JIVE, B). Accompanied by a drum machine on "I Miss My Friend," Mario belts out lyrics about feeling despair since his lady friend left him, while "Get Out" finds the artist cursing the woman who ripped a hole inside his chest. Even up-tempo songs like the first single, "Break Up" - with a guest rap by Gucci Mane - touch on heartache.

SONG SUNG BLUE: There's no denying that songwriting is among the most cathartic professions. And never has a writer's pain sounded more achingly raw than on Steven Curtis Chapman's new "Beauty Will Rise" (Sparrow Records, B+), a collection of songs about the death of his 5-year-old daughter. (Maria Sue died in 2008 after her brother accidentally hit her with a car in the family's driveway.)

The new set examines unfathomable grief but also celebrates an extraordinary young life, with lyrics that are heartbreaking yet hopeful. Though he's been tested, Chapman's faith remains strong and shines through on songs like "Our God Is in Control," "Faithful," "I Will Trust You" and the comforting "Jesus Will Meet You There."

FULL CIRCLE: Bon Jovi had great crossover success after putting a little bit of country into its rock-'n'-roll with the 2007 "Lost Highway." But the New Jersey group gets back to the business of rocking on its 11th studio album, "The Circle" (Island Records, A).

The band hits a classic Bon Jovi stride out of the gate with the first single, the common-man anthem "We Weren't Born to Follow." Also in that mold are tracks like "Work for the Working Man," "Thorn in My Pride" and "Broken Promiseland." The country-friendly elements are still there - the fiddle and steel on "Live Before You Die," for example - but "The Circle" rides closer to the New Jersey turnpike than the band's "Highway" run.

For some longtime Flaming Lips fans, the band's 12th studio album, "Embryonic" (Warner, C+), will be hailed as a welcome return to the experimental, psychedelic form of its early years. But the group's newer fans who only know the Lips' recent pop-infused tunes and obtuse but harmless lyrics may be surprised by the new album's return to atonal jams, buried vocals and a notable lack of memorable melodies.

The act should be credited for not hewing to the tried-and-true formula it pretty much invented with previous releases ("The Soft Bulletin," "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots," "At War With the Mystics"), but many of the double-disc's 18 tracks feel like they are embryonic rather than fully formed.

The exceptions include "Convinced of the Hex" and the closer "Watching the Planets," which should fit nicely into the band's always-entertaining live show.

Twilight Saga : Eclipse + New Moon Trailer

Eclipse may have already rocked its wrap party, but the goodies from the third installment of the Twilight Saga have only just begun.

Amidst all the fun that's kicking off with New Moon hitting theaters in less than a month, the Eclipse title treatment isn't necessarily the most exciting Twi-thing going down, but it's sure worth the tease.

No, it doesn't feature new images of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart making out or anything, but we totally know there'll be plenty of that next year when the film comes out.
Eclipse gets a much sharper, daggerlike makeover than New Moon had, and sits in blood red shadows. Very ominous. Kind of like Dakota Fanning's scary red eyes.

The Twilight Twitter launched the image earlier than it had promised—it vowed to show us the title when it eclipsed 200,000 followers and it's still nowhere close. But instead, it's promising something else just as tantalizing when it hits that big number, so you might want to hit that "follow" button.

Not enough action to jump start your week? Hold on to your seats, folks...
